Amazon is developing next generation Kindle Fire 2 tablet in response to recent introduction of Google Nexus 7 tablet.
A few weeks ago Google introduced its first tablet – Google Nexus 7. Google Nexus 7 tablet features modern powerful components and latest Android operating system. In addition the tablet has an attractive price tag of $200. Google Nexus 7 tablet become one of the main competitors of popular low-cost Android-devices Amazon Kindle Fire and Barnes & Noble Nook.
Amazon Kindle Fire was introduced at the end of 2011 and quickly become popular due to the attractive design, convenient user interface and giant collection of digital content by Amazon. Since then Amazon is developing next generation of Kindle Fire tablets.
Some analysts believe that Amazon developing three new 7-inch Kindle Fire models and one model with 8.9-inch display. Such information based on the analysis of supply chain of components required for assembling the next generation of Kindle Fire.
Based on the analysis the following models are expected:
- 7-inch Kindle Fire 2 with the screen resolution of 1024×600 pixels and no camera. Release and manufacturing of this model expected in August;
- 7-inch Kindle Fire 2 with the screen resolution of 1280×800 pixels and built-in camera. Release and manufacturing of this model expected in August;
- 7-inch Kindle Fire 2 with the screen resolution of 1280×800 pixels, built-in camera and 4G support. Release and manufacturing of this model expected in August;
- 8.9-inch Kindle Fire 2 with the screen resolution of 1920×1200 pixels. Release and manufacturing of this model expected at the end of 2012.
According to above mentioned expectations Amazon Kindle Fire will remain the main competitor of Google Nexus 7 on 7-inch tablet market. Another powerful player Apple iPad mini may come later in October 2012.
If provided technical details are accurate then some models of Kindle Fire 2 may attract customers with 4G support and better resolution of 8.9-inch display. Amazon Kindle Fire 2 7-inch models display density expected to be 216 PPI – the same as Google Nexus 7 tablet has. Such resolution is quite competitive with the latest iPad 264 PPI. The current generation of Kindle Fire has a value 170 PPI.
Currently there is no information about what processors will be used in next generation of Kindle Fire. The most analysts say that it could be either Texas Instruments OMAP or 4-core NVIDIA Tegra 3.

First line of Sony made ultrabooks
A few days ago Sony introduced the brand new line of ultra-thin notebooks – Vaio T ultrabooks.
The line presented by two models T11 and T13 with 11.6” and 13.3” displays respectively.
Screens resolution is 1366×768 pixels. Solid nice looking cases of Sony ultrabooks are made from aluminum and magnesium are pretty impressive, strong and lightweight. Overall weights of T11 and T13 ultrabooks are 1.35 and 1.6 pounds respectively
Powered by Intel Sandy Bridge Intel Core i3-2367M processor, 4GB of DDR3 memory and running on Windows 7 Home Premiun operating system Sony ultrabooks are promised to be attractive to consumers.
The combination of SSD and conventional 320 GB hard drive as well as up to 9 hours running on battery time are also impressive
Ultrabooks equipped by SD slot ,Bluetooth 4.0, USB ports and HDMI-output.

According to research by comScore Kindle Fire became the most popular Android-based tablet in the U.S.
As of February 2012 the share of Kindle Fire in the US tablet of Android based tablets was 54.4 percent.
The device is far ahead from the nearest competitor Samsung Galaxy Tab .with 15.4 percent of the market.
Motorola Xoom is on the third place with 7 percent. Amazon started sales of Kindle Fire in U.S. stores in November 14, 2011 and in a month manage to get 29.4 percent of the market.
Kindle Fire powered by 1GHz dual-core processor and has eight gigabytes of internal memory.
7” display of the device has a resolution of 1024 by 600 pixels. There are no built-in camera and a slot for SIM cards but it can go online via Wi-Fi.
Kindle Fire is running on modified version of Android and has no access to Google services.
Applications for Fire are available in Amazon Appstore only. In order to access the Android Market consumers should get the tablet root privileges.
According to unofficial reports Google is close to release a device that would be competitor of Kindle Fire. New 7’’ tablet from Google expected to have a price below $ 199.
