OUYA Android Gaming Console
According to the project website Ouya Android gaming console sales was initially scheduled for June. The project was initiated on famous Kickstarter platform and got support of more than 60 thousands people collecting 8.6 million dollars for developing the gaming console. As of today Ouya Android gaming console is available for preorders for about $100. Extra game controllers offered for $50 each. People who donated for Ouya Android gaming console may start receiving their consoles in March. All others will have to wait till official release in June.
Ouya console is inexpensive gaming device running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. Gaming console is powered by quad core Tegra 3 processor, has 1GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal flash memory. Ouya console is equipped by HDMI-port, Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n) and Bluetooth 4.0 adapters, Ethernet-controller and USB 2.0 port.
One of the most attractable features of Ouya Android gaming console is its open architecture. Anyone could develop own applications, games and even connect various manipulators manufactured by third party vendors. Such feature may attract a lot of young people that are “hungry” on any innovations.
Julie Uhrman executive director of Ouya announced free-to-try policy for all games developed for Ouya gaming console. According to the policy Ouya customers may download a demo version of any Ouya game and decide if the particular game is suitable for them based on their own experience rather then on reviews of other players.
