According to Digitimes Research combined sales of recently released 7 and 8.8-inch models of Amazon Kindle Fire HD tablets should reach 5 million units before the end of the year.

Digitimes Research forecast based on the analysis of components shipment. The shipment of 7-inch Kindle Fire HD components started in July. According to Digitimes Research half a million of 7-inch Kindle Fire HD will be shipped in September and about a million units in October. Overall sales of 7-inch Kindle Fire HD should reach 2.9 million units at the end of the year.

Monthly shipments of 8.9-inch model of Kindle Fire HD may reach one million units. Overall sales of 8.9-inch model of Kindle Fire HD tablets should reach 2.2 million devices.

Amazon may sale from 3.5 to 4 million 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD tablets before the release of the next version of Kindle Fire.

7-inch Kindle Fire HD tablets are currently available. The tablet powered by dual core 1.2 GHz processor, has 1 GB of RAM and microHDMI slot, equipped by frontal camera, supports superfast Dual-Band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. 7-inch Kindle Fire HD tablet comes with high quality IPS dispaly with resolution of 1280×800 pixels and superior quality Dolby Audio. The price on the model with 16GB storage is $199. 32GB model is also available for $249.

Amazon runs out of Kindle Fire tablets – Kindle Fire 2 is coming

According to the Amazon press release the company has sold all stocks of Kindle Fire tablets.  They are not available any longer. Amazon did not specify whether Kindle Fire will be back on the market, but said that there are exciting plans for the future. First model of Kindle Fire tablet was introduced in September 2011. 7-inch tablet was powered by dual core processor and equipped by eight gigabytes of memory. However first model of Kindle Fire did not have GPS, built-in camera and did not support cellular networks. Kindle Fire has gained popularity due to the low price of $ 199 and convenient access to large stock of Amazon digital content.

Amazon claims that in August 2012 Kindle Fire took 22 percent of the U.S. tablet market. According to the company Kindle Fire was the most successful product in Amazons history.

Amazon is preparing to release  5 to 6 new models of next generation of Kindle Fire tablets. One of the models of Kindle Fire 2 expected to come with 10-inch screen. Models may have either 7 or 10 inch display and featured by either only Wi-Fi or combined Wi-Fi and 3G/4G networking support.
