Wikipad gaming tablet – Tegra 3 quad core powered

Wikipad disclosed some technical details of their gaming tablet powered by quad core Tegra3 processor. Wikipad tablet is designed specifically for gamers. The prototype of the tablet was introduced at the beginning of the year. At that time it was powered by single core 1.2 Gz processor and featured by 8 inch touch screen with the resolution of 1280×800 pixels. The prototype was capable of managing 3D images.
After release of nVidia Tegra platform Wikipad tabled changed the processor and currently powered by quad core 1.4 GHz processor, low-voltage co-processor and GeForce graphic accelerator. Wikipad tablets have 1GB of RAM and equipped by 2 cameras: 2 megapixels front camera and 8 megixels rear camera. The size of the screen was increased to 10.1 inch. Display is utilizing IPS technology and has resolution of 1280 × 800 pixels. First models of WikiPad tablets will not support 3D but such feature is expected to be added to next models.
Wikipad tablet comes with detachable hood with built-in set of controllers, which turns the tablet into a portable gaming console. Weight of the device is 560 g and thickness is 8.6 mm. Wikipad is running on the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. The battery of the tablet is capable to support of up to 6 hours gaming or 8 hours video playback without recharging.
Nowadays quad core tablets on nVidia Tegra 3 platform becoming very popular. Recently released Google Nexus 7 , ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity 700 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Android tablets are all running on Tegra 3 processors. Even much expected Amazon Kindle Fire 2 could also be powered by Tegra 3 processor.
