Sony Xperia Go and Acro S water resistant smartphones may become popular. People always looking for good quality devices with reach functionality and such features as water and dust resistance that could become essential while travelling and/or dependable on the smartphone availability.
Sony introduced a new line of water resistant Android smartphones Xperia Go and Xperia Acro S. Both devices designed to work even if dropped in the water. New Sony Xperia smartphones remain operational after staying in the water in a depth of one meter and for about an hour. Sony Xperia Go and Xperia Acro S smartphones successfully recognize the touch of wet fingers. In addition introduced smartphones are dust resistant preventing devices from overheating.
Sony Xperia Go equipped with 320 by 480 pixels 3.5-inch display and powered by 1GHz dual core processor. Sony Xperia Acro S has larger 4.3-inch display and more powerful 1.5 GHz processor
Sony Xperia Go featured by built-in 5 megapixels camera while Sony Xperia Acro S has two cameras wit resolution of 12 megapixels and 1.3 megapixels. Both smartphones have memory expansion slot for micro SD cards, equipped by non-removable battery and featured by GPS support.
Smartphones should become available in 3rd quarter of 2012. Sony did not disclose prices of mentioned Experia smartphones yet.
Sony is not the only company that produces water resistant mobile devices. Such devices are available from Panasonic and Fujitsu. Panasonic Eluga and Fujitsu Arrows smartphones are also water resistant. Similar to Sony’s Xperia smartphones they may stay under water up to thirty minutes without any consequences in terms of functionality.
