PS Vita is able to run PlayStation 1 games
Sony Computer Entertainment just released the new system firmware for PS Vita console. On the first view there is nothing unusual in this. All Sony gaming consoles receive regular firmware updates. But this case is special. As a result of the firmware upgrade to version 1.80 PS Vita console gets a couple of very interesting key features.
First key feature allows users run Play Station 1 classic games on PS Vita console. The following games are currently available: Arc the Lad, Cool Boarders 2, Final Fantasy VII, Hot Shots Golf 2, Jet Moto, Syphon Filter, Tomb Raider, Twisted Metal 2, and Wild Arms. In our opinion, the most interesting is Final Fantasy VII, one of the best parts of the legendary YARPG series and Tomb Raider – the very first game dedicated to Tomb Raider Lara Croft.
And the second key feature of the update is the ability to connect the console with PlayStation 3. As a result, you can use the PS Vita console with its touch screen and back panel instead of the usual PS3-joystick.
There are also a few minor changes comes with the firmware such as improvements of the web browser and use D-pad controller for the menu navigation.
