Kirabook Retina laptops by Toshiba
Toshiba has introduced a new premium brand of Retina laptops – Kirabook.
This is one of the first notebooks powered by Windows 8 and with Retina-like high resolution display. Kirabook is equipped by 13.3-inch 221 dpi display with resolution of 2560х1440 px.
13-inch MacBook Pro has resolution of 1560×1600.
Apple MacBook Pro
13-inch Apple MacBook Pro with Retina display has resolution of 1560×1600.
Google Cromebook Pixel
Earlier this year Google released Chromebook Pixel 12.85-inch laptop with Retina like display of 2560×1700 px. However Chromebook is powered by Chrome OS that is not yet gain a solid portion of OS market dominated by Windows and Mac.
Samsung Series 9 laptop
Samsung also promised to release the Series 9 laptop with 2560×1440 px Retina like display.
Toshiba Kirabook powered by Core i5/i7 processor and equipped by optional touch screen, Harmon Kardon audio, 256 GB SSD-drive and 8 GB of RAM.
From a technical point of view the screen resolution of KIRAbook slightly higher than the resolution of Apple and Google laptops. However, an ordinary user is unlikely to notice any difference. The ost important feature of KIRAbook distinguishing it from other similar devices is support of the 10-point multi-touch display technology. Toshiba screen covered with thermal and impact resistant glass Corning Gorilla Glass.
Sales of Kirabook will start on May 12. Price range of Kirabook is from 1,600 to 2,000 dollars depending on configuration.
